Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Inventory Control Specialist to manage inventory accuracy and flow at our Grand Rapids, Michigan location. This key role within our **logistics** department is responsible for maintaining precise inventory records, conducting cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and implementing process improvements to minimize stockouts and overages. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS). You will collaborate closely with warehouse operations, procurement, and **logistics** planning teams to ensure optimal inventory levels and efficient product handling. Maintaining a **safe** work environment and adhering to **PPE** guidelines are crucial. This position may involve some **Lifting** and moving of inventory items. Your expertise will be vital in supporting our commitment to operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform regular cycle counting and full physical inventory audits.
  • Analyze and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly.
  • Maintain accurate inventory data within the WMS.
  • Develop and execute strategies to enhance inventory accuracy.
  • Monitor stock rotation (FIFO/LIFO) and identify aging inventory.
  • Coordinate with **logistics** and operations for stock replenishment and transfers.
  • Ensure proper **storage** conditions and organization of inventory.
  • Train staff on inventory control best practices and **safety** procedures.
  • Enforce **safety** regulations and ensure correct use of **PPE**.
  • Generate reports on inventory status and performance.

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in inventory control, preferably in a **logistics** or warehouse environment.
  • Proficiency with WMS and ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to perform moderate **Lifting** and manual tasks as needed.
  • Thorough understanding of **warehouse safety** protocols and **PPE**.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
