Responsibilities
We are seeking a mission-driven
Senior
Cloud Architect
to join our Engineering Team. You will lead the design, prototyping, and deployment of secure, resilient, and scalable cloud infrastructures (AWS/Azure/Hybrid). You will work directly with our Labs team to modernize legacy systems and build greenfield capabilities that support real-world national security missions. You will act as the bridge between high-level strategy and technical execution, ensuring that our solutions meet the rigorous security standards of the DoD while delivering the performance required for data-heavy intelligence operations.
Key Responsibilities Architect & Design:
Lead the technical architecture for secure multi-cloud and hybrid environments (AWS, Azure, GovCloud), ensuring solutions are "mission-ready" and scalable. Rapid Prototyping:
Collaborate with the Labs team to quickly prototype and field new technologies, moving from Proof of Concept (PoC) to production deployment using DevSecOps best practices. Security & Compliance:
Design Zero Trust architectures that strictly adhere to DoD/IC security standards (NIST 800-53, RMF). Ensure all infrastructure is hardened and compliant from day one. Infrastructure as Code (IaC):
develop and maintain automated deployment pipelines using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation to ensure consistent, repeatable environments. Modernization:
Assess legacy on-premise applications and design migration strategies (re-host, re-platform, re-factor) to modernize capabilities for the cloud. Technical Leadership:
Mentor engineering teams, conduct code/architecture reviews, and serve as the technical SME for cloud-native technologies (Kubernetes, Serverless, Microservices). Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Experience:
7+ years of IT experience with at least 3+ years specifically in Cloud Architecture and Engineering Certifications (Required): Active
CompTIA Security+ (SY0-601 or later) AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional)
OR
Azure Solutions Architect Expert
OR
similar cloud certifications Technical Skills: Deep proficiency in
AWS
or
Azure
(GovCloud experience preferred) Strong background in
DevSecOps
pipelines (GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions) Experience with
Containerization
(Docker, Kubernetes/EKS/AKS) Proficiency in
Infrastructure as Code
(Terraform, Ansible) Solid understanding of networking (VPC, DNS, Load Balancing, VPNs) and security protocols Desired Qualifications:
Active TS/SCI Security Clearance Experience with
DoD/Navy
acquisition programs or enterprise IT environments (e.g., NIWC, NAVWAR) Knowledge of "Big Data" architectures or Visual Intelligence platforms Experience with "Zero Trust" implementation in federal environments Advanced certifications (e.g., Net+, Sec+, CISSP, CISM, or AWS Certified Security - Specialty) US citizenship required What you can expect from us
