Overview Join our growing Nuclear Services Group at ENERCON as a Nuclear Security Design Engineer and become a key player in the innovative field of Physical Security. In this engaging role, you will collaborate closely with internal teams and external clients to design and implement exceptional security solutions. Your technical expertise will drive project success, tackle complex challenges, and ensure that we consistently exceed customer expectations. There are opportunities for this role in various locations, including: King of Prussia, PA Crane Clean Energy Center - Middletown, PA Remote in Palo, IA Palisades - Covert, MI Birmingham, AL Naperville, IL (Suburb of Chicago) Kennesaw, GA (Suburb of Atlanta) This position can be Full Time, Part Time, or Contract (LTLB). Responsibilities
As a Nuclear Security Design Engineer, you will lead collaborative efforts to deliver state-of-the-art physical security solutions. Your responsibilities will include: Relationship Building & Client Interaction : Foster strong connections with internal engineering teams and external clients, particularly in the realm of Physical Security, while effectively communicating with security management and engineering stakeholders. Engineering Support & Technical Leadership : Provide engineering support to project teams, ensuring all designs meet customer, contract, and regulatory requirements while guiding deliverables and keeping senior management updated. Issue Resolution & Quality Assurance : Address and resolve technical and quality issues across multiple disciplines, researching best practices and suggesting improvements. Project Planning & Execution : Coordinate and oversee the timely execution of engineering activities in collaboration with Project Engineers and project management teams, providing regular updates on progress and challenges. Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in an engineering field is preferred; however, a HS Diploma/GED with equivalent relevant experience is required. A minimum of 6 years of relevant design engineering or technician experience. Experience with AIM or NSMART security platforms is highly preferred. Familiarity with the design, installation, and testing of large-scale digital control and security system upgrades at power plants is a plus. Nuclear plant design experience and/or field experience within a nuclear QA Program is advantageous. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Visio, Access, and PowerPoint is required. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to understand and relay detailed technical data. Knowledge of Physical Security principles, standards, and regulations is necessary. Willingness to perform walkdowns at nuclear power plants and offer feedback on equipment deviations. A demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and projects, working effectively with all levels of staff and management. Willingness to travel to client sites for meetings and walkdowns, approximately 30% of the time. Senior level candidates should be familiar with the Standard Design Process and Digital Engineering Guide. Pay Range USD $85,000.00 - USD $165,000.00 /Yr.
