Lead Data Scientist YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES As a Lead Data Scientist, you will oversee all aspects of data science within your platform, including strategic direction, capability building, resource management, and product output. Your key responsibilities will include: Establishing clear goals and direction while enhancing team capabilities and professionalism. Engaging in collaborative efforts to align data science with organizational priorities and initiatives. Utilizing a variety of data science methodologies and tools to drive insights and improve operational practices. Conducting and providing critique of statistical analyses to ensure accuracy and relevance. Building and maintaining robust data engineering practices with a focus on data integrity. Driving innovation in data science by identifying opportunities for enhanced analysis and product delivery. Championing ethical standards in data management and ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation. Developing effective communication strategies to present data science initiatives to senior leadership. Leading the technical community within the team to foster collaboration and continuous development. Collaborating on multi-disciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of data science products. WHO YOU ARE Bayer is seeking candidates who have the following qualifications: Required Qualifications: Strong academic foundation with demonstrated experience in machine learning, AI, statistical modeling, and data analytics. Proficient in programming languages such as Python or R and familiar with relevant libraries and frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, and scikit-learn. In-depth knowledge of statistical methods, hypothesis testing, regression analysis, and clustering techniques. Experience with big data technologies including Hadoop and Spark. Proficient in SQL and both relational and NoSQL databases. Exceptional communication skills, able to convey complex ideas clearly. Proven track record of collaboration within interdisciplinary teams. Experience in mentoring and leading teams of data scientists. Capability to align data science projects with business objectives. Strong decision-making abilities. Preferred Qualifications: Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field with ten or more years of experience. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. The salary range for this position is expected to be between $147,040 to $220,560, with potential for additional bonuses or commissions. Employees will also receive benefits, including healthcare, vision, dental, retirement plans, PTO, and sick leave. This posting will remain open until at least 2/24/2025.
