Key Responsibilities: Develop, modify, and optimize CNC programs using Siemens NX (CAM) for tire mold components including sidewalls, tread rings, segments, plates, and related tooling.
Support new mold machining processes and collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve manufacturing workflows.
Create and validate CNC toolpaths, machining strategies, and post-processing solutions within NX CAM.
Customize NX environments including templates, libraries, and best practices to improve programming efficiency.
Utilize Vericut or similar verification software to simulate CNC programs and prevent machine collisions or downtime.
Troubleshoot CAD/CAM design and manufacturing issues and recommend effective solutions.
Analyze machining processes to reduce cycle times and improve tool life.
Provide technical troubleshooting support for CNC machining issues on the shop floor.
Assist in fixture design, tooling selection, and process standardization.
Maintain documentation of CNC programs, revisions, and engineering changes.
Support ERP and production planning systems related to machining workflows.
Ensure compliance with quality and safety standards (ISO 9001 preferred; ISO 45001 knowledge a plus).
Stay current with Siemens NX software updates and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
Develop and maintain NX Open programs, automation scripts, and macros to support tire mold engineering workflows.
Write, modify, and optimize G-code programs for CNC machining.
Provide training and technical support to team members on automated tools and machining programs.
Requirements include:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
Experience: 3-5 years of CNC programming and machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience working with complex tooling such as tire molds or similar precision components preferred.
Skills: Advanced proficiency in Siemens NX (CAM).
Strong understanding of G-code programming and machining strategies.
Experience troubleshooting CNC machining processes.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional engineering and production teams.
Certifications: None required; relevant manufacturing or engineering certifications are a plus.
Knowledge: Multi-axis CNC machines (3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis).
CAD/CAM workflows and automation within Siemens NX.
CNC program simulation tools such as Vericut.
ERP systems and digital manufacturing processes preferred.
ISO-certified manufacturing environments.
