This is a great opportunity to join a busy and fast-paced planning environment where you will support daily transport operations, coordinate shipments, and ensure excellent service delivery to customers and partners.
The Role Reporting directly to the Planning & Transport Manager, the successful candidate will provide full-time support to the planning team.
The role involves coordinating operational planning activities, supporting administrative functions, and delivering a high standard of customer service Key Responsibilities Manage logistics administration, supplier communication, and procurement documentation Liaise with the customer service department and other internal teams Process order placements and shipment bookings Maintain the flow of relevant operational information across the organisation Coordinate delivery schedules with customers and assist with general queries Plan freight volumes effectively to ensure customer requirements are met Liaise closely with hauliers to maintain service standards Ensure efficient freight planning to maximise vehicle utilisation and service performance Update internal systems and maintain accurate records of all planning activities Support reporting, investigation, and administrative processes when required Resolve service-related issues and queries in a timely and professional manner Support continuous improvement initiatives and cross-departmental projects Ensure full compliance with company health and safety procedures Provide support across other planning functions when required Candidate Requirements The ideal candidate will demonstrate: Fluent in written and spoken English Strong numeracy, literacy, and Microsoft Office skills 12 years experience in a similar role (freight forwarding or logistics experience desirable) Experience working in a fast-paced office or operational environment Knowledge of the logistics or transport industry is advantageous Strong communication and customer service skills Experience working with KPIs and performance targets A positive, proactive attitude and strong team approach Whats on Offer Competitive salary based on experience Permanent position 21 days annual leave (with additional leave after 12 months service) Company pension scheme Employee Assistance Programme Free on-site parking Potential hybrid working after successful probation Career progression opportunities Supportive and positive working environment Apply To apply, please submit your CV and cover letter quoting the role title and your full name in the subject line. xcfaprz
