The Role

Our new High Care / High Risk Senior Production Planner will play a key role in coordinating production planning across the Carroll’s Cuisine site, ensuring safe, efficient and compliant scheduling within high‑care food manufacturing environments.

Working across ready‑to‑eat, chilled, short shelf‑life and allergen‑controlled product categories, this role sits at the heart of the operation. You will balance demand forecasts, production capacity and food safety requirements to ensure smooth supply while minimising operational and quality risks.

The senior planner will work closely with operations, technical, procurement and logistics teams to keep production running efficiently while maintaining the highest food safety standards.

This role is based onsite in Tullamore, 5 days a week.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Developing and managing production schedules for high‑care / high‑risk product lines.
  • Balancing demand forecasts, site capacity and shelf‑life constraints to maintain service levels.
  • Sequencing production to prevent cross‑contamination and manage allergen control requirements.
  • Monitoring raw material and finished goods inventory to ensure continuity of supply.
  • Adjusting plans quickly in response to supply disruptions, quality holds, recalls or operational changes.
  • Collaborating with technical, QA, operations, procurement and logistics teams to ensure aligned planning.
  • Contributing to S&OP processes and supporting planning for new product launches within high‑care environments.
  • Analysing performance data including OTIF, waste levels, forecast accuracy and capacity utilisation.
  • Using ERP/MRP planning systems to manage production and supply planning activity.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste, risk exposure and stock shortages.

The Ideal Candidate

You will be an experienced planner within a food manufacturing environment who understands the challenges of short shelf‑life and high‑care production planning.

  • Experienced in production planning, supply planning or scheduling within food manufacturing.
  • Background working in high‑care, high‑risk or chilled food production environments.
  • Strong understanding of food safety systems such as HACCP, BRCGS or ISO 22000.
  • Confident working with ERP or MRP planning systems and production data.
  • Comfortable balancing demand, capacity and shelf‑life constraints in a fast‑moving environment.
  • Strong cross‑functional collaboration skills with operations, technical and supply chain teams.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret planning and performance data.
  • Degree in Supply Chain, Food Science, Operations Management or similar is beneficial.
  • APICS / CPIM or equivalent planning certification is desirable but not essential.
