Mechanical Design Engineer

is partnering with a well-established industrial packaging and logistics company in Bandon to hire a Design Engineer to join their growing team.

This is a design-focused engineering position supporting the development of bespoke protective and transit packaging solutions. Alongside core design work, the role includes estimation, materials planning, and occasional office support during quieter periods.

• Design custom packaging solutions using CAD software
  
• Produce drawings, layouts, and design documentation
  
• Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  
• Liaise with production, purchasing, and commercial teams
  
• Provide general office support (e.g. purchasing assistance) when required

• Impact CAD (training provided)
  
• Experience with AutoDesk or similar CAD software is highly transferable

• Ideally 1–2 years’ experience in design engineering or a related field
  
• Open to candidates with strong CAD skills and relevant project experience
  
• Practical, adaptable, and comfortable in an SME environment
  
• Willing to take on varied responsibilities beyond pure design work
