Are you a detail-oriented professional with a passion for accuracy? Our company in Des Moines, Iowa is seeking a dedicated Inventory Control Specialist to join our logistics team. This role is essential for maintaining the integrity of our inventory, ensuring that our warehouse operations run smoothly and efficiently. You will be responsible for tracking inventory levels, performing cycle counts, identifying and resolving discrepancies, and implementing process improvements. A strong understanding of warehouse procedures and a commitment to Safety are key. We provide a safe work environment and expect all team members to follow established Safety guidelines, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This role may require occasional Lifting. Responsibilities include:
- Conducting regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
- Investigating and reconciling inventory discrepancies with accuracy and efficiency.
- Maintaining precise inventory records within our Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Analyzing inventory data to identify trends, forecast needs, and suggest improvements.
- Collaborating with team members to ensure proper stock rotation and storage.
- Developing and implementing strategies to minimize inventory loss and damage.
- Monitoring inventory levels to support production and order fulfillment demands.
- Ensuring compliance with all inventory control policies and procedures.
- Adhering to all company Safety regulations and guidelines.
- Proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory.
- Must be capable of Lifting up to 30 lbs. occasionally.
- Previous experience in inventory control or warehouse management is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with logistics and supply chain principles is a plus.
- This position requires strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
