Join our dynamic team as a Material Handler in Atlanta, Georgia! This role is integral to the efficient movement and management of materials within our logistics facility. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing various materials and products. Your duties will include operating material handling equipment, loading and unloading trucks, and ensuring that materials are organized and readily accessible. We maintain a strong commitment to safety, and all employees must adhere to strict safety guidelines, including the appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This position requires physical stamina, the ability to handle frequent lifting, and a good understanding of warehouse operations. Prior experience operating forklifts or other similar machinery is highly desirable. We are looking for individuals who are reliable, possess excellent attention to detail, and can work effectively both independently and as part of a team. You will play a crucial role in the smooth operation of our supply chain, ensuring that materials are handled correctly and efficiently, contributing to overall logistics success. Comprehensive training will be provided to ensure you are equipped for success in this vital role.
Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Store materials in an organized and accessible manner.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and stock rotation.
- Ensure materials are properly packaged and labeled for shipment or storage.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Wear appropriate PPE at all times.
- Identify and report any damaged materials or safety hazards.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience operating material handling equipment, including forklift certification (preferred).
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs) and standing for long periods.
- Basic understanding of warehouse safety and logistics procedures.
- Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Team player with a strong work ethic.
