We are hiring a skilled Forklift Operator to join our busy logistics center in Madison, Wisconsin! In this role, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise within the warehouse. Your primary focus will be on ensuring smooth inventory flow and supporting shipping and receiving operations. A valid forklift certification and a strong commitment to safety are essential. If you have experience in operating various types of forklifts and a keen understanding of warehouse logistics, this is an excellent opportunity to advance your career.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and into storage areas.
- Move, stack, and retrieve inventory as directed.
- Perform pre-operation inspections of equipment to ensure safety and functionality.
- Maintain accurate inventory records through proper material handling.
- Assist with receiving and shipping operations as needed.
- Adhere strictly to all safety guidelines and procedures, including the use of PPE.
- Keep work areas clean and organized.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator in a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Proficiency in operating sit-down, stand-up, and reach forklifts is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
- Ability to perform lifting of up to 50 lbs when necessary.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Commitment to wearing appropriate PPE at all times.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and operate machinery for extended periods.
This role is central to our logistics operations, requiring expert operation of forklifts and strict adherence to safety protocols, including mandatory PPE usage. The physical demands include regular lifting and operating heavy machinery.
