We are hiring a Material Handler for our thriving logistics hub in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This position is fundamental to the efficient operation of our warehouse, requiring individuals who are physically capable and committed to safety. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of goods, ensuring that materials are correctly sorted, stored, and transferred. This role is vital for maintaining the integrity of our supply chain and ensuring timely fulfillment of orders.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unpack, sort, and store incoming materials and products.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to move goods.
- Load and unload trucks and containers, ensuring proper weight distribution and securement.
- Perform regular inspections of equipment and report any maintenance needs or safety concerns.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment in accordance with company policies and OSHA standards.
- Accurately track the movement of inventory and assist with cycle counts.
- Follow all designated procedures for handling different types of materials, including hazardous substances if applicable.
- Wear appropriate PPE at all times while performing duties.
- Collaborate effectively with the logistics team to meet operational goals.
- Assist with other warehouse tasks as directed.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a material handling or warehouse role is required.
- Proven ability to perform lifting tasks weighing up to 60 lbs.
- Experience operating forklifts and other relevant warehouse equipment.
- Solid understanding of warehouse safety protocols and the importance of PPE.
- Familiarity with logistics and inventory control systems is a plus.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a commitment to quality work.
