Are you a reliable and hardworking individual looking for a challenging role in a fast-paced environment? We are hiring a Material Handler for our facility in Detroit, Michigan. This position is crucial for the smooth operation of our warehouse and logistics network. You will be involved in the physical movement of goods, ensuring materials are transferred efficiently and safely from one location to another. Your attention to detail and physical stamina will be key to your success in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unpack, and store incoming materials and equipment.
- Move materials to and from storage areas, production areas, or loading docks using hand trucks, forklifts, or other equipment.
- Sort and organize materials, ensuring proper labeling and storage.
- Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, skids, platforms, or other transport devices.
- Perform routine checks on equipment and report any defects or malfunctions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all safety regulations and guidelines.
- Follow precise instructions for handling and moving specific materials, ensuring product integrity.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, including counting and record-keeping.
- Properly use and maintain required PPE.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a warehouse or material handling role is preferred.
- Physical ability to perform frequent lifting and carrying of items weighing up to 60 lbs.
- Ability to operate manual pallet jacks and other basic warehouse equipment.
- Understanding of basic warehouse and logistics principles.
- Commitment to safety protocols and the correct use of PPE.
- Ability to stand, walk, push, pull, and bend throughout the shift.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks within our logistics operations.
