We are seeking a diligent Order Picker to join our dynamic logistics team in Washington, D.C. As an Order Picker, you will be instrumental in ensuring the timely and accurate fulfillment of customer orders. Your responsibilities will include navigating the warehouse, selecting items based on order specifications, and preparing them for the next stage of the shipping process. Accuracy, efficiency, and a strong commitment to safety are paramount. You will be required to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and possess the physical ability to perform tasks that may involve lifting up to 50 pounds and extensive standing and walking. Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick products according to order details using handheld scanners or pick lists.
- Retrieve items from various warehouse locations, ensuring correct product and quantity.
- Inspect items for damage before picking and preparing for shipment.
- Stage picked orders for packing and consolidation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Operate equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks safely.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including mandatory PPE usage.
- Assist in inventory counts and cycle counts as required.
- Meet individual and team productivity goals.
- Report any issues with inventory or equipment immediately to supervision.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or order picking role is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret order documents and scanner instructions.
- Basic math skills for order verification.
- Excellent attention to detail and a focus on accuracy.
- Physical capability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to perform manual lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Commitment to following safety protocols and wearing PPE.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Understanding of basic logistics principles.
