Job Summary:
Our rapidly growing company is seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist for our Chicago, Illinois facility. This position is fundamental to maintaining accurate inventory levels, minimizing discrepancies, and optimizing our warehouse logistics. The Inventory Control Specialist will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of inventory management, including cycle counting, physical inventories, and discrepancy resolution. You will work closely with warehouse staff and management to ensure data integrity and efficient stock rotation. A keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving are essential. You will be required to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and may need to perform moderate lifting as part of inventory audits. This role is key to the success of our supply chain operations, ensuring that our logistics run smoothly and efficiently. Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and full physical inventories.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly and accurately.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Implement and monitor inventory control procedures.
  • Ensure proper storage and organization of inventory.
  • Collaborate with receiving, shipping, and operations teams to reconcile inventory.
  • Identify and report damaged or expired stock.
  • Assist in developing and implementing strategies to reduce inventory loss.
  • Train other staff on inventory control best practices and the importance of safety and PPE.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in inventory control or warehouse management.
  • Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring moderate physical effort, including lifting up to 30 pounds.
  • Understanding of logistics and supply chain operations.
  • Commitment to adhering to safety protocols and wearing PPE.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
