We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in Richmond, Virginia. This role is crucial to ensuring our products reach our customers efficiently and accurately. You will be responsible for preparing shipments, managing shipping documentation, and coordinating with carriers. This position offers a great opportunity to grow within a leading supply chain organization.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick, pack, and label outgoing shipments according to order specifications.
- Operate shipping software to generate shipping labels, bills of lading, and other necessary documents.
- Conduct quality checks to ensure all orders are accurate and free from damage before shipment.
- Communicate with shipping carriers to schedule pickups and resolve any shipping-related issues.
- Maintain an organized and clean shipping area.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety regulations.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock management as needed.
- Understand and follow all safety guidelines, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Be prepared for tasks involving Lifting, often up to 50 lbs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a shipping or warehouse environment is a plus.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills and data entry.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Understanding of logistics and supply chain processes is beneficial.
- Must be able to perform tasks requiring physical exertion, including frequent Lifting.
- Commitment to workplace Safety is paramount.
