We are seeking an experienced Forklift Operator to join our logistics team in Baltimore, Maryland. In this crucial role, you will operate forklifts to move materials, load and unload trailers, and support various warehouse functions, including put-away and order picking. Ensuring the safe and efficient movement of goods is paramount. You will perform daily equipment checks, maintain operational logs, and work collaboratively with warehouse associates to achieve daily targets. A strong understanding of warehouse Safety procedures and adherence to all regulations is required. Your attention to detail and proficiency with forklifts are vital to our operational success. We emphasize a culture of Safety, and all employees are required to use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). While your primary role is forklift operation, occasional manual Lifting of up to 50 lbs may be necessary. This is an excellent opportunity to utilize your skills in a dynamic logistics environment.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts to transport materials within the warehouse.
- Load and unload goods from trucks and trailers efficiently.
- Perform accurate put-away of received inventory into designated locations.
- Assist with order picking and staging for shipment.
- Conduct daily pre-shift equipment inspections and report any malfunctions.
- Maintain organized and clean work areas, ensuring Safety.
- Collaborate with team members to meet productivity and quality standards.
- Adhere strictly to all company Safety policies and governmental regulations.
- Utilize required PPE at all times.
- Participate in ongoing training and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification and proven experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics setting.
- Ability to perform occasional manual Lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent knowledge of warehouse Safety protocols.
- Strong spatial awareness and hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Team player with good communication skills.
