Join our fast-paced logistics team in New York City, New York, as a Material Handler! We are looking for energetic and dependable individuals to support our warehouse operations. This role involves the physical movement of goods, ensuring materials are accurately sorted, staged, and transported within the facility. Your ability to handle physical tasks efficiently and safely will be key to maintaining our operational flow.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unpack, and organize incoming materials.
- Transport materials within the warehouse using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment.
- Sort and label items according to established procedures.
- Load and unload materials from delivery vehicles and containers.
- Conduct routine inspections of handling equipment and report any issues.
- Maintain a clean, clutter-free, and safe work environment, strictly adhering to safety guidelines.
- Follow specific instructions for handling diverse materials to prevent damage.
- Participate in inventory counts and assist with record-keeping.
- Ensure proper use of PPE at all times.
- Support the overall logistics process with efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a material handler or warehouse role is preferred.
- Physical capacity to perform frequent lifting and carrying of items up to 60 lbs.
- Skill in operating manual pallet jacks and other basic warehouse machinery.
- Basic knowledge of warehouse safety regulations and logistics.
- Commitment to wearing and maintaining PPE correctly.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
- Excellent work ethic and ability to work both independently and collaboratively within our logistics team.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing tasks and priorities in a dynamic environment.
