Performs progressively more technical tasks related to the hardware, software, peripheral equipment, and other technologies supporting a specific organizational or divisionwide clientele; performs more routine and repetitive technical or administrative tasks as part of a functional applications support team.
Qualifications
Required Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or possession of a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) certificate. One (1) year of experience in systemwide applications related to student and/or government systems, or equivalent secured software involving sensitive information.
Advanced degree(s) beyond the minimum degree requirement in a relevant field may be considered for some experience.
Knowledge of the applications, databases, and information systems. Knowledge and understanding of policies and practices related to maintaining data. Knowledge of management methods and practices related to data confidentiality requirements. Ability to provide effective customer support. Ability to clearly document and maintain end-user training materials. Ability to process, develop, and create reports and manage spreadsheets or databases.
Major Duties/Essential Functions
Provides general assistance to a functional applications support team. Provides customer support with first level trouble-shooting and technical assistance to users of organizational- or clientele-specific hardware and software applications. Refers unusually difficult questions or problems to a specialist or the senior manager. Prepares user documentation and/or performs limited acceptance testing on applications. Assists with the development of training materials for software applications. May provide basic training to new users at the introductory level. Creates, maintains, and executes standard and ad hoc query reports, as required. Manages databases and may assume responsibilities for the administrative functions of the assigned support team. Performs related duties as required or assigned.
Work Environment/Physical Requirements
This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
