*JOB SUMMARY* : Come and join an awesome team with The Children's League! We are looking for an energetic and collaborative speech language pathologist (SLP) to join our special education professionals. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to therapy, evaluations, IEP development, and teacher consultation. A full-time position (10 month + 6 week summer) working with very young children with disabling disorders. Preferred SLP candidates will have experience with oral-motor skills, childhood development, PECS and ABA/VB strategies.
CF will be considered. Part-Time also available.
*QUALIFICATIONS for the SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST / SLP*
* Graduate of an accredited college, MS in Department of Communicative Disorders
* ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (TCL reimburses up to $225 of expenses paid for your next annual ASHA membership dues + the $28 elective CE registry fee)
* Current NYS Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) License (TCL reimburses up to $325 of expense paid for your next professional licensing renewal after hire)
* At least one year experience working with very young special needs children
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: Must have valid NYS Driver's License
Salary Range: $50,000 - $55,000
*ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES of the SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST / SLP*
* Plans and provides educational group and individual therapy programming as indicated by Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
* Performs screenings and evaluations to determine eligibility for the provision of speech and language services.
* Administers audio metric screening evaluations as needed.
* Communicate effectively with children, parents, community agencies and others connected with child’s care, proper use and care for the materials, supplies and equipment employed in performing services.
* Establishes and implements applicable goals on each child’s IEP.
* Re-evaluates children’s individual speech and language therapy plan on a regular basis.
* Investigates and develops skills in alternate methods of communication as necessary.
* Has a willingness to work with other professionals to develop a team approach.
*JOB FUNCTIONS of the SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST / SLP*
* Good interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
* Ability to administer diagnostic tests with efficiency and accuracy.
* Ability to interpret results appropriately taking into account developmental norms, child’s progress or lack of progress and any other pertinent information helpful in determining service recommendations.
* Demonstrate knowledge of current best practice in the area of speech language pathology.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
