The Junior Data Center Technician is responsible for monitoring and managing the technical installations and infrastructure in EMEA data centers. This includes ensuring the optimal operation of critical systems such as air-conditioning, UPS, generators, and environmental controls. The Junior Data Center Technician serves as the main contact during shifts for Security, Management, Engineers, and Customers, ensuring smooth operations, quick issue resolution, and effective communication.
Qualifications:
- Languages: Fluent in German (preferred) and English.
- Skills: Technical affinity or Helpdesk/Warehousing/Customer facing experience preferred, proficiency in Microsoft Office, strong organizational and administrative abilities.
Work Environment:
- Operates Monday to Friday day shift.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitoring: Continuously monitor technical and environmental systems, respond to tickets and alarms, manage notifications, and escalate issues as needed.
- Issue Management: Track and document issues in the ticketing system, and compile weekly/monthly reports.
- Shift Management: Ensure smooth shift transitions through thorough handovers and regular updates to the NOC Manager.
- Incident Reporting: Accurately report incidents and collaborate with team members for coordinated responses.
- Support Desk Tasks: Take on support desk responsibilities outside of office hours, ensuring critical tasks are addressed promptly and end users are informed of any relevant actions or updates.
- General Maintenance Oversight: Monitor and support general maintenance activities, ensuring that all work is completed as scheduled and that relevant stakeholders, including end users, are informed of progress and completion.
