Maynooth University wishes to appoint a Network Specialist (Cyber) at AOII grade on a full-time permanent basis.

The Network Specialist (Cyber) will manage, configure and maintain campus network services, ensuring the security and availability of the network service. They will take a hands-on role in the support of the campus network service, administer data centre network services on campus and cloud hosted, and be involved in the future planning and development of services. The role will assist in ensuring that the security of the network is aligned with university policies and will proactively administer security infrastructure including the campus firewall. They will provide direct support and information to users of the network service.

This role will report to the ICT Infrastructure Manager with day-to-day work activities set by the Senior AOI staff member within the networks group of the Infrastructure Team.

Applicants should be aware that this is a role that supports critical infrastructure located on campus and as such, the successful applicant will be expected to work on campus to discharge their duties and on limited occasions it may also be necessary to work outside normal hours as is typical with roles involving critical infrastructure and services.

The ideal candidate will have a solid technical understanding and experience of networking for enterprise data centres, wired and Wi-Fi services and network security technologies with experience working in a physical campus environment. They will be a strong collaborator with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Appointments will be made in accordance with public sector pay provisions.
