We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Associate Dentist to join our busy, modern dental practice in central Nanaimo. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive dental care to patients of all ages, ensuring high-quality treatment and exceptional patient experiences. This role offers an opportunity to work in a collaborative environment utilizing advanced dental technology and maintaining the highest standards of infection control and patient safety. The Associate Dentist will be responsible for diagnosing, planning, and executing a wide range of dental procedures, including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and more.
*Duties*
* Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including oral examinations and medical history reviews using dental terminology and medical records management.
* Deliver a variety of dental treatments such as dental extractions, root canal therapy, prosthodontics, and other restorative procedures with precision and adherence to aseptic techniques.
* Utilize dental imaging tools and medical imaging technology to diagnose dental conditions accurately.
* Apply infection control protocols in accordance with HIPAA regulations and OSHA standards to ensure patient safety.
* Engage in four-handed dentistry practices to improve efficiency and patient comfort during procedures.
* Maintain detailed documentation of patient care using electronic health records
* Educate patients on oral health maintenance, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term oral health.
* Collaborate with the dental team to ensure smooth clinic operations and exceptional patient care delivery.
* Stay current with advancements in general dentistry and related specialties through continuing education.
*Qualifications*
* DDS or DMD degree from an accredited institution; active state licensure required.
* Proven experience in general dentistry with proficiency in dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical documentation.
* Hands-on experience with dental office software AbelDent preferred
* Strong knowledge of pediatric dentistry, endodontics (including root canal therapy), prosthodontics, oral surgery (including dental extractions), and infection control protocols.
* Ability to perform complex procedures like root canals, dental fabrication, and implant placements if applicable.
* Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach tailored to pediatrics and diverse patient populations.
* Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry and proficiency in medical imaging techniques.
* Familiarity with HIPAA regulations ensuring confidentiality of medical records and patient information.

Pay: $114,470.29-$542,597.06 per year
