1. Ironworker – Steel Erector

We are seeking experienced Ironworkers specializing in structural steel erection. The Steel Erector is responsible for assembling, aligning, and installing structural steel components for buildings, bridges, and other structures. Candidates must be comfortable working at heights and in physically demanding environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Erect structural steel beams, columns, girders, and decking
  • Read and interpret structural drawings and blueprints
  • Align and secure steel components using bolts, welding, and rigging equipment
  • Work safely at heights using fall protection
  • Coordinate lifts with crane operators and riggers
  • Maintain tools and equipment
  • Follow OSHA safety standards and company safety policies

Qualifications

  • Structural steel erection experience
  • Ability to read structural plans
  • Comfortable working at heights (90+ ft possible)
  • Knowledge of bolting and basic welding techniques
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred


2. Connectors (Ironworker)

The Connector is a highly skilled ironworker responsible for connecting structural steel members during erection. This position requires advanced steel erection experience and the ability to safely perform high-elevation work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Guide structural steel members into position during crane lifts
  • Bolt and secure steel beams and columns
  • Install safety cables and fall protection systems
  • Work closely with crane operators and rigging crews
  • Inspect connections for alignment and safety
  • Maintain safe work practices at all times

Qualifications

  • Structural steel erection experience
  • Strong knowledge of structural connections
  • Experience working on high steel
  • Must be comfortable working at extreme heights


3. Riggers (Ironworkers)

The Rigger is responsible for preparing and securing loads for crane lifting operations during steel erection and tilt-wall installation. The rigger ensures safe rigging practices and proper load balance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attach slings, chains, and rigging hardware to steel components
  • Signal crane operators during lifting operations
  • Inspect rigging equipment for safety and wear
  • Calculate load weights and determine proper rigging methods
  • Maintain clear communication with the erection crew

Qualifications

  • Rigging experience
  • Knowledge of rigging hardware and load calculations
  • Strong safety awareness


4. Steel Erection Helper / Ironworker Helper
Steel Erection Helpers assist ironworkers, connectors, and riggers in assembling and installing structural steel components.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with material handling and staging steel
  • Carry tools and equipment for ironworkers
  • Assist with bolting and installation tasks
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Follow directions from foreman and senior crew members

Qualifications

  • Construction experience preferred but not required
  • Willingness to learn steel erection trade
  • Ability to work in physically demanding conditions
  • Reliable transportation


5. Steel Erection Foreman

The Steel Erection Foreman supervises steel erection crews and coordinates daily field operations. The Foreman ensures projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to plans and specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise ironworkers, riggers, and helpers
  • Plan daily work activities and crew assignments
  • Coordinate crane lifts and steel installation

The Tilt-Wall Crane Operator is responsible for safely operating cranes used to lift and set tilt-wall concrete panels and structural steel components.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate cranes for lifting tilt-wall panels and steel structures
  • Perform daily crane inspections
  • Work closely with riggers and signal persons
  • Ensure lifts are performed safely and within crane capacity
  • Follow site lift plans and safety procedures

Qualifications

  • NCCCO Crane Operator Certification required
  • Experience with tilt-wall panel erection
  • Strong understanding of load charts and crane operations
  • 5+ years crane operating experience in construction
