Join Oracle's Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) National Security Sector Group, where we are crafting the next generation of Cloud IaaS/PaaS/SaaS technologies that operate at high scale in a multi-tenant environment. Our mission is to provide a cloud infrastructure platform with unmatched reliability, scalability, and performance for essential databases, applications, and workloads. The Autonomous Database Team is at the forefront of creating the cloud service framework that powers various Oracle Autonomous Database cloud offerings, including Autonomous Data Warehouse (ADW) and Autonomous Transaction Processing (ATP). This framework automates deployment, scaling, and management of databases in the cloud. As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will play a crucial role in defining and deploying autonomous database services with a strong focus on architecture, production operations, capacity planning, performance management, deployment, and release engineering. You will collaborate with diverse teams to deliver exceptional experiences while ensuring system reliability and performance. This role supports Oracle's Government customers. U.S. Citizenship is Required, Sponsorship is not available. We value a team of motivated and proactive individuals who are eager to contribute. In this role, you will: Act as an escalation point for incidents and issues within the cloud database services region.
Operate and maintain cloud database services running in the region.
Deploy code and implement changes within the region.
Take ownership of implementing and operating a wide range of core system platform solutions.
Continuously improve systems by implementing automation, self-healing, and real-time monitoring.
Document incidents thoroughly using company-standard methods.
Stay updated on cloud infrastructure stacks.
Drive and actively participate in resolving complex technical issues across services.
Qualifications: Must possess and maintain TS/SCI w/Poly US government security clearance. U.S. Citizenship is essential.
At least a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related technical field, or equivalent work experience.
Solid experience with Linux.
Skilled in troubleshooting complex software and networking issues.
Strong understanding of cloud concepts and platforms.
Preferred experience in cloud technical support, operations, NOC, or similar environments.
Expert level experience with Oracle Database technology including RAC, Dataguard, ASM, and RMAN is preferred.
Development skills in Python, shell scripting, and SQL.
Deep knowledge and experience with Oracle Engineered systems, especially Exadata.
Adept at troubleshooting and resolving complex hardware/software issues, performing root cause analysis, and developing mitigation strategies.
Excellent communication and analytical skills.
Knowledge of security practices in web application delivery and general network topology.
Preferred experience working with government customers.
Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technical domains and train others.
