Job Description Summary The IS Sr Database Developer is responsible for providing advanced database and ETL development, as well as designing, optimizing, and developing effective solutions in support of Health Share's business strategies. This role is essential toward maturing Health Share's database and ETL development model. This position participates in the analysis, definition and development of a long-term data plan that will meet the analytical needs of the organization. Health Share as an organization dedicated to health equity; this position would align team efforts in support of this mission.
Estimated Hiring Range: $113,715.00 - $138,985.00
Job Description Essential Responsibilities
Database Development
Actively participate in the design of custom databases and processes. Actively participate in the building of custom databases. Provide database design expertise to the organization; lead small projects independently and participate and consult on other projects. ETL Development
Design and develop ETL processes for moderate to advanced activities. Design and develop advanced databases to meet application and web needs. Analyze business requirements; research and recommend solutions which include potential risks and mitigation. Develop and maintain appropriate technology documentation, including current design and operation. Standards and Policy Administration
Create logical and physical data models in support of data warehousing and analytics solution development. Create and manage architecture documentation and project artifacts, such as data models, data dictionaries, ETL data maps, performance requirements, etc. Monitor and continually review existing systems to ensure they are designed to comply with established standards and to empower business operations. Vendor Coordination and Relations
Conduct product and vendor research, and present recommendations to lead developer and/or management. Establish and manage effective relations with vendors and related equipment suppliers, including installation and repair of services. Coordinate and collaborate with Health Share's partners on data process and data interchange efforts. Organizational Responsibilities

Knowledge: Advanced knowledge of Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) systems and functional requirements. Knowledge of performance tuning to optimize load and query performance in data warehousing and analytics systems. Ability to analyze, diagnose, and recommend solutions for performance issues. Advanced knowledge with the following: Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL programming language ETL tools, such as SSIS Visual Studio High-level programming languages Unit and integration testing Troubleshooting system performance issues and root cause
Knowledge of HIPAA X12 transaction formats Core Skills and Abilities: Skills in researching advanced technical problems and identifying solutions. Skills in creating and maintaining effective system documentation. Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodology Working knowledge of database technologies (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Teradata, or others) General knowledge of business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI, Business Objects, Qlik, or other systems) Strong communication skills, including listening, verbal, written, customer service, meeting facilitation, and presentations. Ability to gather, compile and analyze data independently and effectively. Ability to clearly articulate policies, instructions, goals, and objectives Able to convey appropriate level of detail effectively to all levels of the organization including non-technical staff. Ability to author policies, document risks, and propose solutions to information technology management and senior leadership. Ability to effectively collaborate with coworkers, staff, leaders, and executives across all departments. Ability to work in an environment with diverse individuals and groups. Strong communication skills, including listening, verbal, written, customer service, meeting facilitation, and presentations. Ability to clearly articulate policies, instructions, goals, and objectives Able to convey appropriate level of detail effectively to all levels of the organization, including non-technical staff. Ability to author policies, document risks, and propose solutions to information technology management and senior leadership. Possess a high degree of initiative and motivation. Ability to effectively collaborate with coworkers, staff, leaders, and executives across all departments. Physical Skills and Abilities: Ability to perform repetitive finger, wrist, shoulder, or neck movement for at least 6-8 hours/day. Ability to see and read for at least 6-8 hours/day. Ability to hear and speak clearly for at least 3-6 hours/day. Cognitive Skills and Abilities: Ability to focus on and comprehend information and learn new skills and abilities. Ability to assess a situation and seek or determine appropriate resolution. Ability to accept direction and feedback, as well as tolerate and manage stress. Education and/or Experience
Required:
Minimum 5 years' experience of database and ETL development required. Experience should include most or all of the following: Database development and maintenance ETL development and maintenance Systems analysis and design Agile/Scrum methodology Preferred:
Experience with multi-dimensional data models for use in data warehousing and analytics
