Java Developer - Junior

A leading public-sector technology organisation is seeking a Junior Developer to join their development team on a contract basis. This organisation delivers large-scale digital platforms and services that support critical national systems and data-driven decision making.

This Junior Developer role offers the opportunity to work on complex enterprise applications within a standards-driven environment, collaborating with experienced engineers and stakeholders while developing scalable solutions using modern technologies such as Java, Spring, and SQL.

• 
  
• Develop new features and enhancements using Java, Spring, and SQL in line with technical standards.
  
• Create and maintain functional design specifications, user stories, and technical documentation.
  
• Contribute to unit, integration, and automation testing to ensure code quality and reliability.
  
• Support system testing, incident resolution, and production releases.
  
• Collaborate with developers, testers, and stakeholders to deliver solutions within Agile or hybrid project environments.

• Experience developing applications using Java, Spring, and SQL.
  
• Knowledge of software development lifecycle methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid).
  
• Experience working with relational databases and structured data formats such as XML, JSON, or text files.
  
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
  
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills within cross-functional development teams.
  

• 
  
• Experience with Angular, Web Services, UNIX, WebLogic, or Cobol would be advantageous.
