Data Scientist - Content Analytics

The Role
As a
Data Scientist
on the HBO Max Data Science team, you will develop, maintain, and improve data science and machine learning models focused on content performance and decision-making. You will partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders, and your models and analyses will inform leadership and business partners on key content decisions.
You will work with a wide range of datasets to build industry-leading models and insights. Success in this role requires strong end-to-end ownership, the ability to execute across cross-functional projects, and a passion for staying current with emerging modeling and algorithmic techniques and applying them in impactful ways.
What You'll Do
Design, build, and improve machine learning models end to end, including data collection, feature generation and selection, model development, forecasting, and results communication
Develop reports, presentations, and slides to clearly communicate model outputs and insights
Deeply understand HBO Max data sources and identify the most valuable data for modeling
Write efficient, accurate queries to support KPIs and metrics
Monitor model performance, validate accuracy, and propose enhancements
Apply causal modeling techniques to identify cause-and-effect relationships between KPIs and key drivers
Research and apply best-in-class data science techniques and modeling best practices
Translate business requirements into data science solutions and actionable recommendations
Build dashboards and reports to share model outputs with internal and external stakeholders, including leadership
Present analyses to business partners and influence decision-making
Basic Qualifications
BA/BS in Business Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Industrial Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline (Master's or PhD preferred)
1+ years of experience building data science or statistical models (e.g., multivariate regression, time series models, XGBoost, causal inference)
Strong proficiency in
SQL and Python
Experience building time-series models (e.g., SARIMAX) preferred
Experience with causal inference models preferred
Experience with linear and non-linear optimization approaches preferred
Other Desired Qualifications
Strong curiosity, leadership skills, and business acumen
Passion for using data to drive strategy and product recommendations
Experience in subscription-based businesses or eCommerce preferred
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate, motivate, and influence
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
Strong storytelling instincts and creative judgment
Ability to engage in strategic conversations using social insights and community perspectives
Comfort operating in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Strong presentation skills

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $79,800.00 - $148,200.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
