Job Description:
The ITG division of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) has an exciting opportunity for a Solutions Architect. The Solutions Architect is responsible for designing and implementing short and long-term strategic goals for managing and maintaining systems and software. This involves gathering requirements and functional specifications, assessing current software systems in place to identify areas in need of improvement, and defining appropriate technical architecture for new development. They provide their expertise and architectural assistance to other technical staff including software development teams.
Responsibilites Include:
Develop technical architecture, frameworks and strategies to meet the business and application requirements.
Work with the infrastructure and development teams to ensure the successful implementation of new solutions and enhancements to existing solutions.
Build relationships with related development and support organizations. Simplifies and communicates complex technical concepts to senior leadership, product managers, and other non-technical stakeholders.
Identify, research, and resolve technical problems.
Mentor and establish relations across technical and architecture teams.
Provide technical coaching to team members on design patterns, development processes, and other technical processes to improve their technical skills.
Provide technical governance of initiatives to ensure adherence with standards.
Management Responsibilities:
This position does not have direct reports.
Minimum Education and/or Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree and eight or more years related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience required.
AWS Certified Solutions Architecture certification preferred.
Extensive experience with the entire software development life cycle required.
Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices, and experience with securing applications, data, and infrastructure required.
Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines preferred.
Experience with and enterprise grade low code/no code platform is preferred (preferably Appian).
Experience working with agile teams is required, working with a SAFe organization is preferred.
Systems & Technology Requirements:
Microsoft Office Suite/365, Databases (Snowflake, Oracle, and/or NoSQL preferred), Cloud (AWS preferred), and/or specific systems or applications the position will support.
Schedule: Remote
While this position qualifies for a fully remote schedule, you may be required to come into the office for ongoing meetings, events or training.
Travel Requirements:
This position does not require overnight business travel. Employees are responsible for their personal transportation to/from the home and office, including events, meetings, and training required by the NAIC.
Compensation:
$145,000- 170,000, commensurate with education and experience.
