QUOTING & ESTIMATING SPECIALIST

POSITION DETAILS

Reports To: Operations Manager

Schedule: Monday–Friday  |  6:00 AM – 2:30 PM

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a skilled Quoting & Estimating Specialist to process and manufacture orders in compliance with our AS9100 quality management guidelines. This role requires a thorough understanding of K-2 Manufacturing capabilities, a working knowledge of quoting, sales, and marketing, and the ability to deliver excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will have strong familiarity with our production capabilities, quality processes, and outside processing operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Quoting

●     Interpret specifications, blueprints, and manufacturing outlines; evaluate scope of work from customers' drawings, samples, specifications, notes, and RFQs.

●     Determine part layout, type and number of primary and secondary operations, and methods required to produce parts in the most efficient and cost-effective manner.

●     Estimate labor and material costs including packaging, sub-contracting, powder coating, plating, and delivery; price materials using internal records and by sourcing/contacting new and existing vendors and sub-contractors.

●     Determine required tooling type and availability; calculate cost of new tooling when required to complete a job.

●     Create shop routers.

●     Review quotes for accuracy and completeness; submit to clients within 5 business days ARO (10 days ARO for large assemblies).

●     Requote as needed for changes in labor cost, raw materials, equipment, or quality requirements within 5 days ARO.

●     Retrieve drawing files from internal server or email; maintain and update file structure on the server as required.

Quality

●     Participate in manufacturability review process with the Quality Manager, Production Manager, Operations Manager, and VP prior to quoting; fully understand and implement inspection procedures as needed for risk mitigation.

●     Recommend measures to improve production methods that may enhance product quality.

●     Maintain awareness of non-conformances, corrective actions, and preventive actions; ensure customer issues are addressed in a timely manner.

Outside Processes

●     Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all outside processes including powder coating, chem film, zinc plating, and anodizing.

Safety

●     Work collaboratively with the Safety Manager to ensure the safety of all work areas and comply with all applicable safety policies and procedures.
