Post Summary


The Clinical Allocations Manager is a senior member of the School of Nursing & Midwifery leadership structure and is responsible and accountable for providing all strategic, operational, governance and management oversight of all clinical placement activity across undergraduate, postgraduate, Erasmus, international and study abroad programmes. The post-holder leads the internal (School of Nursing and Midwifery -based) and external (Clinical Partner-based) allocations teams and acts as the School’s compliance manager and subject matter expert in relation to Clinical regulations and standards. They are responsible for the sourcing, development and maintenance of clinical all partnerships.


The postholder is responsible for ensuring students meet the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) clinical requirements for professional registration and plays a critical part in programme governance in close collaboration with the Directors of Teaching & Learning (undergraduate and postgraduate), Director of Global Engagement, Heads of Disciplines, Programme Leads, Clinical Skills educators and key clinical staff such as Directors of Nursing and Midwifery. This includes oversight of student cases related to clinical competency, absence from placement, maternity leave, and disability accommodations.


The postholder is also responsible for leading the development and improvement of all clinical documentation including clinical learning objectives, competency assessment documentation, and audit frameworks. They also advise on national and international developments in practice education. They ensure effective communication and maintain partnerships with Health Service Providers (HSPs) including the development and review of Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs). They will ensure that academics and practice learning environment assessors and preceptors have the appropriate education, training and continued development available to carry out their role.


Post status: Permanent Contract


Hours of Post: 35 hours per week


Salary: This appointment will be made on the Administrative 1 (Points 1-3), Salary Scale (€69,545 - €89,965 per annum) at a point in line with current Government pay policy. monthly/weekly payscales. ( )
