While many roles at Coinbase are remote-first, in-person collaboration is required periodically throughout the year for team-building and alignment activities. Attendance at company-wide offsites multiple times a year is expected and fully supported. The Analytics Engineering team serves as the vital link between data engineering, data science, and business analytics. We craft scalable and impactful data solutions that turn raw data into actionable insights through robust pipelines, well-structured data models, and intuitive tools that empower decision-making across the organization. Our team pairs technical skills with a comprehensive understanding of business needs to maximize our data's value. We prioritize data quality, reliability, and usability, ensuring stakeholders can depend on our insights for meaningful outcomes. Key Responsibilities: Establish Expertise:
Quickly gain deep knowledge in specific business areas and data domains. Comprehend data flows from creation to delivery. Drive Business Value:
Collaborate with stakeholders across data and product teams to extract maximum commercial value from data. Outcome-Driven Approaches:
Utilize a variety of frameworks and tools to deliver impactful results swiftly and sustainably. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work with engineering, data science, and product teams to ensure alignment and implementation of data solutions that meet organizational goals. Scalable Data Solutions:
Develop and maintain data models and tools that enhance users’ access to reliable insights. What We Seek: Data Modeling Expertise:
Proficient in designing modular and reusable data models, including best practices like star and snowflake schemas. Prompt Design & Engineering:
Skilled in optimizing prompts for large language models (LLMs) to enhance tool performance. Advanced SQL:
Strong proficiency in SQL for data transformation and optimization. Intermediate to Advanced Python:
Experience in scripting, automation, and building scalable frameworks. Collaboration & Communication:
Ability to translate technical insights into business value effectively, managing cross-team projects. Data Pipeline Development:
Experience in constructing and managing ETL/ELT pipelines using tools such as dbt or Airflow. Data Visualization:
Competence in creating insightful dashboards utilizing tools like Looker or Tableau. Development Tools:
Familiar with version control systems (e.g., GitHub) and continuous integration/deployment workflows. Data Architecture:
Knowledge in modern data lake/warehouse architectures like Snowflake and Databricks. Business Insight:
Ability to leverage analytics engineering to address business challenges. Data Savvy:
Familiarity with statistics and probability. Bonus Skills: Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP). Knowledge of container technologies like Docker or Kubernetes. Compensation:
The target annual base salary for this position ranges from $180,370 to $212,200 USD, plus bonus eligibility, equity options, and benefits inclusive of medical, dental, vision, and 401(k). Commitment to Equal Opportunity:
