Midlands – Co Laois, commutable from Offaly, Kildare, North Tipperary and surrounds


This is initially a 6 month fixed term contract... with possibility of permanency.

CPL are working with our client partner to hire an EHS Specialist for their GMP certified chemical production facility in Laois. The plant has been purpose built to support their client portfolio who are primarily in the Bio‑Pharma, General Pharma and API manufacturing industries.


Responsibilities

  • Support the development and monitoring of the sites environmental, EHS ensuring compliance with legislative regulations.
  • Support with the evolving site EHS integrated management system.
  • Perform risk assessments for various operations, on equipment and tasks and implement associated risk controls where appropriate.
  • Increase the safety awareness of all staff through promotion, risk assessment, training and working with departmental managers.
  • Conduct inspections, internal assessments on various programs to detect existing or potential hazards and recommend corrective or preventive measures.
  • Work on own initiative, engage with associates and drive a safety value.
  • Support EHS projects to completion.
  • Support accident investigations and incident prevention opportunities.
  • Develop, establish, and conduct related training programs in environmental, health, and safety practices for administrative, manufacturing, laboratory, and outside service personnel.
  • Create and update EHS programmes/procedures as well as supporting risk assessment and training materials as necessary.

Requirements

  • A relevant 3rd level qualification ideally in Environmental Science or another relevant 3rd level EHS discipline.
  • Relevant experience, preferably within manufacturing environments, with a preference for Pharmaceutical, Food manufacturing, medical device manufacturing, or Chemical manufacturing.
  • Proven capabilities in all relevant EHS regulations, site environmental and safety management systems.
  • Self‑motivated with the ability to work on own initiative and possess excellent organisational and time management skills. xcfaprz
