Position: Senior Infrastructure / Systems Engineer

Location: Dublin
We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure / Systems Engineer to support, maintain, and enhance a mixed on-premises, cloud, and hybrid IT environment. This role requires hands-on capability across infrastructure, virtualization, networking, and security, with the ability to work closely with engineers and business stakeholders in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent troubleshooting skills, strong documentation practices, and the ability to remain calm and effective when dealing with incidents or tight deadlines.
Core Systems & Infrastructure
- Administration and support of Windows Server and Linux (SLES and RHEL) environments
- Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP management
- Experience with ManageEngine AD Manager is beneficial
- Virtualisation platforms: VMware, Hyper-V, and Nutanix
- Server hardware support, including HPE and Dell servers
- RAID configuration, firmware updates, and lifecycle management
Networking Knowledge
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, and switching
- Firewall and VPN technologies, including Cisco, Meraki, FortiGate
- Wi-Fi infrastructure deployment, support, and troubleshooting
- Basic network monitoring, diagnostics, and fault resolution
- Experience with Cisco Meraki environments is highly desirable
Cloud & Hybrid Environments
- Experience with Azure (or AWS) fundamentals, including virtual machines, networking, and storage
- Identity and access management integration: Azure AD / Entra ID
- Hybrid connectivity solutions, including site-to-site VPNs
- Hybrid and cloud-based backup solutions
- Knowledge of Zscaler technologies: ZIA (Zscaler Internet Access) and ZPA (Zscaler Private Access)
Security & Compliance
- Patch management and endpoint security practices
- Experience with ManageEngine Endpoint Central is advantageous
- Strong understanding of access control, MFA, and least- privilege principles
- Backup, disaster recovery, and ransomware protection strategies
- Awareness of recognised security frameworks, such as ISO 27001, NIST, or similar standards
Engineering-Specific Systems
- Support of CAD/CAE applications, including AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar engineering tools
- Licence server management: FlexNet, Sentinel
- High-performance workstations and compute-intensive workloads
- Storage performance considerations for large engineering and design files
- Knowledge of SAP infrastructure is beneficial
Automation & Monitoring
- Scripting and automation using PowerShell and/or Bash
- Monitoring tools such as PRTG
- Log analysis, alerting, and incident response
- Proactive identification of performance, capacity, and availability issues
Soft Skills (Essential)
- Strong documentation skills and adherence to change management processes
- Ability to work effectively with engineers under tight deadlines
- Methodical problem-solving approach and calm troubleshooting style
- Experience liaising with vendors and managing escalations
- Clear communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences

- Microsoft certifications (Azure Administrator, Windows Server)
- VMware VCP
- Cisco CCNA
- ITIL Foundation
