About the Role
Are you ready to take your culinary career to the next level? We’re on the lookout for a Junior Kitchen Manager to join our vibrant Butlin’s Buffets Department in Skegness!
In this exciting role, you’ll report directly to the Kitchen Manager and play a vital part in running our bustling kitchen, leading a talented team of chefs. You’ll step up in the Kitchen Manager's absence, ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently.
Your passion for delivering exceptional experiences will shine through as you monitor performance and develop action plans focused on continuous improvement. With your strong leadership skills, you’ll inspire and support your team through daily briefings, stock control, and food presentation reviews. Financial performance is key, and you’ll help manage food cost budgets through effective menu planning and adherence to cooking standards. Plus, you’ll ensure our food hygiene and health and safety standards meet all legislation and company policies.
As a role model for Butlin’s unique way of working, you’ll implement training schedules and performance development plans, motivating your team to create unforgettable experiences for our guests. Join us in our main buffet restaurant, where you’ll have the chance to lead and develop a team serving up to 3,000 guests per service!

Key Responsibilities

We’re looking for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and have experience in a similar role with large volume turnaround. Here’s what you’ll be doing:

  • Support the Kitchen Manager in daily operations and team leadership.
  • Monitor and enhance guest experiences through continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage stock control and ensure high standards of food presentation.
  • Deliver food cost budgets through effective menu planning and cooking standards.
  • Ensure compliance with food hygiene and health and safety regulations.

To succeed in this role, you should be:

  • Hardworking, determined, and reliable, always looking for ways to improve.
  • Energetic, enthusiastic, and fun-loving, ready to build relationships with your team and guests.
  • Confident in leading a team to maintain high standards in a busy kitchen environment.

You must have passed your Level 3 Food Safety qualification.
As a chef at this level, you’ll also manage margins, control costs, and uphold health, safety, and hygiene standards. We believe our chefs are something special, and we know our guests love returning to our restaurants as part of their holiday experience. So, if you’re fun, eager to join in, and committed to ensuring our guests have a fantastic time, we want to hear from you!

This role covers a 5-day working week over 7 days, totaling 40 hours, including evenings and weekends. Please note that this position does not come with onsite accommodation.
