SUMMARY
SHRM's paid internship program enables students to participate in valuable real-world work experience through various tailored assignments within their areas of interest and fields of study. Students will be tasked with different team-specific projects, and tasks, and participate in professional development projects and events to prepare them for their future careers. The Business Intelligence Intern will support the analytics team in collecting, analyzing, and visualizing data to provide valuable insights for business decision-making. This internship offers exposure to various aspects of data analytics and business intelligence, providing a valuable learning experience in a real-world business environment.
This is a paid internship starting at $20.00/Hour.
This is a 10-week, summer internship from June 2, 2026 - August 6, 2026.
Responsibilities:
Assist in collecting, cleaning, and organizing data from diverse sources to ensure accuracy and reliability. Support in creating and maintaining data models and predictive analytics for business forecasting. Participate in team meetings, discussions, and brainstorming sessions related to data analytics projects. Learn and apply data visualization best practices to convey complex information clearly and understandably. Assist in documenting processes and best practices related to data analytics and business intelligence. Education & Experience Requirements
Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Business Analytics, or a related field 0-3 years of relevant work experience Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Current enrollment in a relevant undergraduate or graduate program, preferably in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Business Analytics, or a related field Familiarity with BI tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms is advantageous but not required Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work with large datasets Eagerness to learn and contribute in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Strong problem-solving analytical skills Strong skills in business written and verbal communication skills High levels of commitment and initiative Ability to successfully work in a team Ability and willingness to follow directions Possess a professional demeanor and interpersonal skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, and Outlook Ability to effectively leverage artificial intelligence (AI) tools and technologies to streamline workflows, enhance productivity, and improve overall work quality. Physical Requirements
This position operates in a typical office environment and requires the ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation. Physical requirements may include:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, handling documents, and using office equipment. Occasional standing, walking, bending, and reaching. Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds as needed. Clear verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with colleagues and stakeholders.
Work environment
Hybrid Schedule (3 Days In-Office / 2 Days Remote): This position follows a hybrid work schedule, with Tuesday through Thursday in office and Monday and Friday remote. Employees must be available during standard business hours, with core hours beginning between 8:00-9:00 a.m. and concluding between 5:00-6:00 p.m. local time.
