While many roles at Coinbase are remote-first, we are not remote-only. In-person participation is required throughout the year. Team and company-wide offsites are held multiple times annually to foster collaboration, connection, and alignment. Attendance is expected and fully supported. FinHub is at the core of Coinbase, processing and recording fund movements for our clients and our business. We are responsible for processing transactions across crypto, fiat and internal wallet, and managing the assets for our users including providing portfolio performance, user tax optimizations etc. With rapid growth of the industry and the company, our scale and complexity of operations quickly surpassed the original design of typical ledgering systems. Currently, we are taking on a challenge to unlock the next level of evolution for fund movements architecture. This is a unique opportunity to redesign foundational systems that will set Coinbase up for success in the next decade. What youll be doing (ie. job duties): Build scalable systems and components, making the right tradeoffs to account for stability and long-term maintainability.
Design, write, test, and release product-facing features with stringent correctness and scalability requirements.
Collaborate with our frontend and data teams to fine tune our REST APIs supporting millions of customers.
Mentor junior developers on the team and lead project of large complexity.
What we look for in you: 5+ years of software development experience with experience writing performant, large scale distributed systems.
Familiarity with writing highly concurrent systems and good intuition for REST API design.
Proven experience working on large projects with long-term impact on a single system or team.
Strong technical grasp with excellent judgment on task prioritizations.
Ability to solve complex engineering problems that deliver results aligned with team objectives.
Ability to mentor junior developers and lead the team technically on new initiatives and system improvements.
Nice to haves: You have gone through a rapid growth in your company (from startup to mid-size).
Experience with growth experiments or A/B testing frameworks.
You have experience with Blockchain technology (such as Bitcoin, Ethereum etc..)
You have experience decomposing a large monolith into microservices.
Youve worked with Golang, Ruby, Docker, Rails, Postgres, MongoDB or DynamoDB.
Youve built financial, high reliability or security systems.
Crypto-forward experience, including familiarity with onchain activity such as interacting with Ethereum addresses, using ENS, and engaging with dApps or blockchain-based services.

Depending on your work location, the target annual salary for this position can range as detailed below. Full time offers from Coinbase also include target bonus + target equity + benefits (including medical, dental, vision and 401(k)).
