Overview of Role

Our client, in partnership with us, is seeking an experienced DevSecOps / Security Operations Specialist to strengthen its security function. The successful candidate will collaborate with the internal client security team and our SOC and Security Operations teams. This position blends hands‑on operational security support, strategic advisory work for security projects, and the implementation of hardening and improvement initiatives across both on‑premises and Azure environments.


Role & Responsibilities

  • Support daily security operations and manage security incidents in alignment with SOC processes.
  • Collaborate with both clients internal teams and our Security Operations teams.
  • Review and respond to SIEM alerts, vendor security advisories, and suspicious emails reported via Microsoft Defender.
  • Raise, review, and track security tickets, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Provide input into ongoing and future security projects, including solution design reviews.
  • Conduct risk assessments and assist in remediation planning following penetration tests.
  • Develop and maintain hardening standards across on‑premises and Azure systems using CIS benchmarks.
  • Champion security awareness across teams and promote continuous improvement in security posture.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

  • Strong background in Security Operations, ideally within SOC‑aligned environments.
  • Experience with SIEM alert handling, incident response, and ticket management.
  • Hands‑on knowledge of Microsoft Defender, including phishing campaign analysis.
  • Expertise in cloud security practices, particularly for Microsoft Azure.
  • Proven ability to plan and implement security hardening initiatives.
  • Familiarity with CIS benchmarks and recognised security frameworks.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills for internal and external stakeholder engagement.

Experience

  • Significant operational security experience, ideally within hybrid (on‑prem/cloud) environments.
  • Prior involvement in developing remediation plans from penetration testing.
  • Exposure to public sector or critical infrastructure security environments (desirable).
  • Experience leveraging CIS Security Program resources.

Education & Certifications

  • Relevant third‑level qualification in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or Microsoft Certified: Security Operations Analyst Associate (desirable).
