Infrastructure Engineer

My client is looking for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer on an initial 6 month contract with view for extension on a hybrid basis in Dublin.

• 
  
• Look after and keep running both on prem and cloud-hosted environments (Microsoft 365 ecosystem, physical & virtual servers, storage arrays, hypervisors, and essential network gear)
  
• Keep an eye on performance, capacity trends, and uptime; suggest and roll out changes to make things more stable and fault‑tolerant
  
• Handle routine maintenance - patching, upgrades, config adjustments - while strictly following our change control workflow
  
• Step in to diagnose and fix difficult technical problems; act as the go‑to escalation contact when Tier 1 and Tier 2 need help
  
• Deal with hardware faults - diagnose, organise repairs or replacements as needed
  
• Manage and fine‑tune Microsoft 365 services (especially Teams, Exchange Online, OneDrive, plus associated cloud workloads)
  
• Take ownership of Entra ID administration, Conditional Access rules, multi‑factor authentication set up, and device compliance policies

• A degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, IT, or a closely related discipline
  
• Around 5+ years working in infrastructure engineering, systems administration, or similar hands‑on technical operations roles
  
• Ideally hold (or working towards) one or more of the following:
  
• Networking cert (CCNA, CCDA level or above), CompTIA Security+/Network+, or equivalent industry recognised credential
  
• ITIL Foundation (or demonstrable understanding of service management best practice)
  
• Azure Fundamentals certification would be useful
  
• Security certification such as CISSP (or equivalent) is a bonus
  
• Previous exposure to endpoint / device analytics or infrastructure monitoring platforms is helpful
  
• Solid hands‑on skill with Windows Server family, Active Directory, Group Policy Objects, DNS, DHCP plus strong troubleshooting technique
  
• Deep xcfaprz working knowledge of core Microsoft 365 workloads - Teams, Exchange Online, OneDrive, Intune, Entra ID
  
• Good practical experience managing VMware (or similar hypervisor), enterprise storage, and backup / recovery solutions
  
• Confident understanding of core networking concepts - LAN/WAN design, firewall rules, basic routing & switching
