About the Role
Are you ready to take your culinary career to the next level? We’re on the lookout for a Junior Kitchen Manager to join our vibrant Butlin's Buffets Department in Skegness! Reporting directly to the Kitchen Manager, you’ll play a crucial role in running our bustling kitchen and leading a fantastic team of chefs.
In this dynamic position, you’ll be passionate about delivering exceptional experiences. You’ll regularly monitor performance and develop action plans focused on continuous improvement. Your leadership skills will shine as you support and grow your team through daily briefings, stock control, and food presentation reviews.
Financial performance is key in this role. You’ll be responsible for delivering food cost budgets through effective menu planning and cooking to our high standards. Additionally, you’ll ensure compliance with food hygiene standards and health and safety regulations, in line with legislation and company policies.
As a role model for Butlin’s unique way of working, you’ll ensure training schedules and performance development plans are in place for your team, inspiring them to create memorable experiences for our guests. Join us in our main buffet restaurant, where you’ll have the opportunity to lead and develop a talented team serving guests on a half-board dining package.
Key ResponsibilitiesWe’re looking for individuals with experience in a similar role, especially in high-volume environments. Our buffet department can serve up to 3,000 guests per service , so being able to thrive in a fast-paced setting is essential. Here’s what you’ll be doing:
- Support the Kitchen Manager in daily operations and team leadership.
- Monitor and enhance guest experiences through continuous improvement.
- Manage stock control and ensure food presentation meets our standards.
- Oversee financial performance, including managing margins and controlling costs.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
- Foster a fun and energetic team environment that enhances guest experiences.

You must have passed your Level 3 Food Safety qualification.
This role covers a 5-day working week over 7 days , totaling 40 hours, including evenings and weekends. Please note that this position does not come with onsite accommodation.
