Are you ready to take your career to the next level? At Waukesha Bearings , part of Dover Precision Components, we are looking for a passionate and skilled CNC Operator to join our dynamic team. You will be an integral part of our fully integrated Computer Aided Manufacturing facility, where you’ll utilize cutting-edge CNC machining centers for turning, milling, and grinding operations. Your expertise will help us produce customized designs from a variety of materials, including steel grades, copper, brass, aluminum, and bronze.
Your Role in Our SuccessIn our state-of-the-art facility, you will work with a broad range of multi-axis machine tools—lathes, mills, grinders, and more. Your contributions will support the production of high-mix customized fluid-film bearings, seals, and isolators, serving customers across Europe and beyond.
What We Offer- Annual Salaries: Enjoy a competitive salary with a 37-hour work week, Monday to Friday, under permanent employment contracts.
- £44,919.62 for a rotating shift pattern (early 6am and backshifts 2pm).
- £52,452.37 for night shift work.
* These rates include shift premiums, plus additional benefits such as productivity bonuses, employer pension contributions up to 13%, life insurance, and 25 days of holiday. Attractive overtime rates are also available!
What You Will Bring- A time-served apprenticeship in a machining discipline or SVQ/NVQ level 3 or HNC in Mechanical Engineering.
- At least 5 years of experience operating CNC machine tools in a lean-manufacturing environment.
- Established experience with Rotary Table Grinders, CNC Table Grinders, or 5 Axis CNC Grinders, and/or milling experience with multi-axis machine tools (ideally Correa and/or Doosan).
- Familiarity with machine control systems such as Fanuc, Mazak, Heidenhain, or Haas.
- Proven ability to hold tight machining tolerances of less than .0025mm.
- Experience with precision inspection equipment, including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and bore gauges.
- Experience in power generation, oil & gas, aerospace, or similar environments is a plus.
- Read process sheets, blueprints, and sketches to determine machining requirements and specifications.
- Locate and download programs from a DNC storage system.
- Interpret work instructions and select the proper tooling for operations.
- Calculate feeds and speeds for various materials.
- Read, understand, edit, or write complete programs.
- Understand the capabilities of tooling and machinery intuitively.
- Perform necessary quality inspections and understand applicable quality systems.
- Apply Lean Manufacturing principles to reduce setup times and enhance productivity.
- Visually inspect final components and perform boxing for shipment.
- Ensure free action of movable parts through cleaning, fitting, filing, and polishing.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments for quality inspection procedures.
- Properly identify components after assembly/manufacture.
