Maintenance Engineer

Our client is a leading food manufacturing business with modern processing facilities across multiple sites in Ireland. The company is committed to quality, innovation, and sustainability, with a strong reputation in its sector.

We are seeking skilled Maintenance Engineers to join the engineering team and support the efficient running of production equipment across the company’s sites. Reporting to the Head of Maintenance, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing factory machinery to ensure minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.

• Carry out planned preventive, predictive, and reactive maintenance on production equipment.
  
• Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults in a timely manner.
  
• Support production teams to minimise downtime and ensure smooth operations.
  
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the sites.
  
• Maintain accurate maintenance records using CMMS or equivalent systems.
  
• Ensure compliance with health & safety and food safety standards at all times.
  
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and other departments to prioritise and complete maintenance tasks.
  
• Provide input into equipment upgrades, capital projects, and process improvements.

• Strong background in factory maintenance, ideally within a food/FMCG environment.
  
• Electrical and/or mechanical engineering qualification (trade cert, HND, or degree).
  
• Proven experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial machinery.
  
• Good knowledge of health & safety in a production setting.
  
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  
• Flexible and proactive approach to problem-solving.
  
• Experience with automated production systems.
  
• Knowledge of CMMS and modern maintenance planning tools.
  
• Familiarity with HACCP, ISO, or BRC standards.
