Your Role: Machining Specialist

As a Machining Specialist, you will play a crucial role in our operations by setting up and operating both computer numerically controlled and manual machines. Here’s what you’ll be doing:

  • Read and interpret process sheets, blueprints, and sketches to determine machining requirements.
  • Download programs from a DNC storage system and interpret work instructions.
  • Select and install the appropriate tooling for various operations.
  • Calculate feeds and speeds for different materials, including steel, copper, and aluminum.
  • Perform quality inspections and apply Lean Manufacturing principles to enhance productivity.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of your workspace while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Actively participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives.
What We’re Looking For:

To thrive in this role, you should possess:

  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes and a time-served background in machining.
  • Relevant Health and Safety awareness, with experience in the oil and gas industry preferred.
  • Familiarity with machine control systems such as Fanuc, Mazak, and Haas.
  • Experience with precision inspection equipment and the ability to hold tight machining tolerances.
  • A self-motivated attitude with strong facilitation skills in a team environment.
  • A commitment to integrity, respect, and a positive influence on process improvement.
Qualifications:
  • HNC Engineering preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a lean-manufacturing environment.
