Senior Project Engineer

The Senior Project Engineer will lead and support the delivery of construction and building services projects within a live manufacturing environment. This role focuses on the planning, coordination, and execution of MEP and building services works, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption to ongoing operations.

The position covers the full project lifecycle including scope development, design coordination, procurement, construction management, commissioning, and handover. A strong understanding of live site constraints, contractor management, and safe execution of works in operational facilities is essential.

• Lead the execution of building services and MEP projects within a live manufacturing facility.
  
• Manage brownfield construction activities, tie-ins, shutdown works, and phased installations.
  
• Coordinate contractors and subcontractors to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient project delivery.
  
• Develop detailed project execution plans that account for live operational constraints.
  
• Oversee site-based construction activities, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and schedule requirements.
  
• Chair site coordination meetings and provide daily oversight of construction progress.
  
• Ensure effective isolation planning, permit-to-work compliance, and risk mitigation in live environments.
  
• Manage project schedules, budgets, risks, and change control processes.
  
• Support project reporting to senior management on programme, cost, and HSE performance.

• Coordinate design activities across mechanical, electrical, HVAC, utilities, and building fabric works.
  
• Review and approve technical submittals, drawings, method statements, and commissioning plans.
  
• Ensure all MEP installations comply with relevant standards, codes, and site requirements.
  
• Provide technical input into scope development, tender documentation, and contractor selection.
  
• Support constructability reviews and ensure designs are practical for live site execution.

• Manage contractor completion documentation and O&M manuals.
  
• Facilitate compliant handover to operations and maintenance teams.

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
  
• Strong experience delivering MEP or building services projects within live manufacturing, industrial, or regulated environments.
  
• Proven track record managing contractors on brownfield construction projects.
  
• Experience coordinating multi-disciplinary construction works under tight operational constraints.
  
• Strong knowledge of construction safety practices, permit systems, and live site risk management.
  
• Experience managing project budgets, schedules, and commercial performance.
