Key Responsibilities
Advanced Technical Support & Systems Engineering
- Multidisciplinary Troubleshooting: Provide expert-level on-site and remote diagnostic support for complex automated systems, encompassing high-speed precision mechanics, electrical power distribution, and sophisticated software architectures.
- Control Systems Architecture: Execute remote diagnostics and real-time logic adjustments for PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers), HMI (Human-Machine Interface), and multi-axis Motion Control systems to minimize Mean Time to Repair (MTTR).
- System Optimization: Analyze recurring equipment failures and implement software or hardware "bug fixes" and performance enhancements in alignment with Pentamaster’s engineering standards.
Lifecycle Maintenance & Quality Compliance
- Strategic Maintenance Execution: Lead Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Corrective Maintenance (CM) programs (Daily to Quarterly), ensuring all automated cells meet Dexcom’s stringent OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) targets.
- Regulatory Documentation: Maintain meticulous service records and calibration logs in compliance with ISO 13485 and FDA 21 CFR Part 11, ensuring all field actions are audit-ready.
- Spare Parts Management: Direct the identification, sourcing, and installation of critical spare parts, maintaining an optimized local inventory to prevent extended production downtime.
Knowledge Leadership & Client Relations
- Technical Upskilling: Design and deliver structured technical training modules and hands-on "shadowing" sessions for Dexcom’s internal engineering and technician teams.
- SME Advisory: Act as the primary Subject Matter Expert (SME) on-site for Pentamaster, bridging the gap between Dexcom’s operational needs and Pentamaster’s R&D/Design teams in Malaysia or globally.
Requirements
Technical Skills & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechatronics, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a related automation discipline.
- Automation Proficiency: Hands-on experience with industrial automation platforms (e.g., Beckhoff, Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, or Siemens) and vision systems (e.g., Cognex, Keyence).
- Motion Control: Proven ability to tune and troubleshoot servo drives, stepper motors, and complex robotic linkages (SCARA or 6-Axis).
- Industry Experience: Minimum 3–5 years in a Field Service or Automation Engineer role, preferably within the Medical Device or Semiconductor sectors.
Soft Skills & Physical Demands
- Analytical Mindset: Exceptional root-cause analysis skills (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams) to solve non-linear automation errors.
- Communication: Ability to translate complex technical issues into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
- Flexibility: Willingness to support a 24/7 manufacturing environment and travel to various Dexcom or Pentamaster sites as required.
