Our client is an AI-powered healthcare technology company transforming how clinical documentation and workflows are managed. They are seeking an experienced Software Team Lead / Engineering Manager to lead and grow a cross-functional engineering team of approximately seven engineers across software development and QA. This is a hands‑on leadership role where you will combine strong backend technical expertise with people management, mentoring, and delivery ownership.
The Role
You will lead, coach, and develop engineers through regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development conversations, fostering an inclusive and psychologically safe environment. You will oversee Agile delivery, ensure effective Scrum ceremonies, collaborate closely with Product Owners, remove impediments, and drive continuous improvement through velocity and quality metrics aligned to OKRs.
From a technical perspective, you will provide guidance on backend architecture, system design, and implementation strategy while contributing to broader technical roadmaps. The platform environment includes Node.js, TypeScript, NestJS, PostgreSQL, Redis, Docker, Kubernetes (AWS EKS), OpenSearch/Elasticsearch, and AI/ML integrations using Python, FastAPI, OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, and Google Cloud Speech. Real-time communication technologies such as WebSockets and Twilio Voice/Video are also part of the ecosystem.
About You
- 7+ years of backend engineering experience with at least 3 years of managing people
- Strong background in Node.js/TypeScript or similar backend technologies
- Experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, and scalable system design
- Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Proven ability to mentor engineers and lead high‑performing teams
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
Experience with QA automation, AI/LLM services, healthcare technology, or regulated environments is advantageous.
