Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Sous Chef to join our culinary team at House of McGrath. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive kitchen experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional food service. As a vital part of our restaurant operations, the Sous Chef will assist the Executive Chef in managing daily kitchen activities, supervising staff, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and safety. Duties

  • Assist in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to quality standards
  • Supervise and manage kitchen staff, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluations
  • Prepare and cook food items according to established recipes and presentation standards
  • Ensure proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices in compliance with food safety regulations
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies to maintain efficient kitchen operations
  • Collaborate with restaurant management to develop menus and special offerings that meet customer expectations
  • Serve as a leader on the kitchen floor, providing guidance and support to team members during service hours
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times


Qualifications

  • Proven supervising experience in a fast-paced restaurant or food service setting
  • Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food handling techniques
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively
  • Extensive restaurant management experience preferred, including menu development and operational oversight
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in the hospitality industry
  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on teamwork and customer service
  • Previous experience working within the food industry or hospitality sector is highly desirable
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism
