Our Client, a global Medical Device Manufacturer based in North Dublin, currently has a vacancy for an Electrical / Electronic Engineer to join their expanding engineering team. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex electromechanical medical devices within a highly innovative and multidisciplinary environment, supporting both product development and manufacturing operations.

Salary: up to €65k

As part of a highly skilled Engineering team, the successful candidate will support the manufacturing and ongoing development of complex electromechanical medical devices. The role involves providing technical expertise to both Commercial Product Engineering (CPE) and Manufacturing Operations, particularly in relation to electrical and electronic assemblies, PCBAs and associated subsystems.


You will play a key role in identifying and resolving production or design issues through root cause analysis and the implementation of corrective and preventive actions. The position also focuses on driving product improvements, enhancing reliability and managing component obsolescence within a regulated environment.


About the role

  • Provide technical support to manufacturing operations relating to electrical and electronic assemblies, PCBAs and embedded systems.
  • Lead cross-functional root cause analysis investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) in collaboration with quality, suppliers and manufacturing teams.
  • Drive engineering changes within a regulated framework, including associated verification and validation (V&V) activities and implementation.
  • Take ownership of component and part obsolescence management and related design updates.
  • Deliver technical solutions that improve product reliability and performance.
  • Carry out component-level failure analysis on PCBAs to support production and field returns.
  • Support design changes relating to electronic manufacturing test systems including ICT, flying probe, automated test equipment and related systems.
  • Work closely with manufacturing, quality, supply chain and external partners to resolve technical issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.

The Person

  • Holds a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Has at least 2 years’ relevant experience in electrical or electronic engineering, ideally within a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrates strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with experience in root cause analysis.
  • Has experience working with suppliers and managing component lifecycle or obsolescence activities.
  • Possesses excellent communication and documentation skills and works effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Is a strong team player who is comfortable collaborating in a dynamic engineering environment.

Experience in the following areas would be advantageous:

  • Design for manufacturability (DFM).
  • PCB design concepts and component selection.
  • Power electronics, sensing and control circuitry.
  • EMC and methods used to minimise electronic interference.
  • Hands-on experience with electronic diagnostic and test bench equipment.
  • Experience with electronic or mechanical CAD design tools. xcfaprz
