A leading provider of tool and equipment hire solutions is seeking an experienced Workshop Manager to lead their busy South Dublin operation. This is a permanent leadership role managing a skilled technical team within a fast‑paced, customer‑driven environment.

THE COMPANY

Our client operates nationwide and supplies a wide range of construction, industrial, and specialist hire equipment including generators, access platforms, lighting towers, pumps, compactors, concreting equipment, lifting gear, power tools, and site machinery. They support contractors and industrial customers with high‑quality equipment and technical support services.

THE ROLE

As Workshop Manager, you will take full responsibility for the daily running of the workshop, ensuring equipment is serviced, repaired, and prepared to the highest standard.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing and leading a team of 8 workshop engineers/technicians
  • Coaching, mentoring, and driving performance across the team
  • Ensuring all KPIs are achieved, including turnaround times, quality standards, and productivity targets
  • Overseeing servicing and repairs on a wide range of hire equipment including generators, access equipment, pumps, compactors, lighting, and power tools
  • Planning workloads and coordinating repair schedules
  • Ensuring health & safety compliance within the workshop
  • Driving continuous improvement and operational efficiency

THE PERSON

We are keen to speak with candidates who:

  • Have previous experience managing a workshop or service team
  • Come from a plant, hire, mechanical, or equipment service background
  • Have strong mechanical and electrical fault‑finding knowledge
  • Are confident managing people, performance, and KPIs
  • Live within commutable distance of South Dublin

Strong leadership skills and a proactive management style are essential.
