We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Material Handler to join our dynamic logistics team in Nashville, Tennessee. This role is crucial for the efficient flow of goods within our distribution center. The Material Handler will be responsible for safely and accurately moving, locating, relocating, stacking, and counting merchandise. You will operate powered industrial trucks and other equipment to do this. Attention to detail is paramount to ensure accurate inventory counts and efficient order fulfillment. This position requires a commitment to safety protocols and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Excellent organizational skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving are highly valued. You will be a key player in maintaining our high standards of operational excellence and ensuring timely delivery of products to our customers. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a warehouse setting and a strong understanding of material handling equipment. We emphasize a culture of continuous improvement and provide opportunities for growth within our organization. Your contribution to maintaining a clean and safe work area will be essential. This role involves significant physical activity and requires adherence to all company policies and procedures. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper handling and securing of goods.
- Move materials from receiving to storage areas and from storage to shipping areas.
- Accurately pick and stage orders according to manifest or pick list.
- Perform regular equipment checks and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all 5S principles.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and company policies, including the use of required PPE.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counting as needed.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience operating forklifts or other material handling equipment preferred.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting up to 50 lbs consistently.
- Understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Commitment to safety and knowledge of PPE requirements.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
